Literature Text

Although we were young
We knew that our love was true
Living in a dream

Our love was proven
By the wedding bands we wore
'Til death do us part

Then one dreadful day
When bombs fell and the guns roared
You had to leave me

I woke each mo(u)rning
Alone and scared in our bed
Pillow damp with tears

Inside my notebook
I write, 'When the rich wage war
It's the poor who die'

In the night sky I
Wish upon a falling star
To see you again

At last, late one night
I can see you from the porch
Where I sat weeping

I run to you and
Under moonlight we embrace
I smile through my tears

The stars all watch us
Twinkling in the sky, they
Sing a song of love
This is a bunch of haiku's put together to make a longer poem, and is an entry for the Tanabata contest in the group :iconthe-haiku-club: Feel free to comment and fave xD

Very beautifully done!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but was the part with, "When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die," a reference to the Linkin Park song "Hands Held High?" (I can't help but wonder, they're one of my favorite bands XD)
